Police in Baltimore arrested and charged Alyssia Marie Reddy after reports of the alleged illicit relationship emerged. It is claimed she had sex with an underage student in a local park along Route 32 in Solebury Township, Pennsylvania, in the spring of 2017. According to police records, Reddy gave the student her cell phone number and then added him on Snapchat in December 2016, reports NBC10. The student said after that he received messages from Reddy in February 2017 saying: “I want your hands on me.” About three weeks later, Reddy picked up the student from a friend’s house in Solebury, Pennsylvania, drove him to a nearby park and had sex with him, according to the police report.
It’s reported Reddy, 29, was arrested on Friday in Baltimore where she awaits extradition to Pennsylvania. Solebury police told the paper they received a report on November 20 of an alleged sexual assault that occurred at a park along River Road in spring this year. Reddy was an English teacher at the Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey, an elite school serving grades six through 12, which charges £28,000 per year at the time of the allegations. Police satisfied with the evidence gathered charged her with institutional sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and other related charges.
The Pennington School said in a letter to their school community Friday afternoon that they were recently informed of an alleged inappropriate relationship involving a former teacher. The school said it reported the claims to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, which handed it to the police. “(Pennington) has a process in place to encourage any community member who might have been subjected to or who may be aware of misconduct by a faculty or staff member to come forward and share that information,” the Pennington statement said. The paper said Solebury police arrested Reddy with assistance from the Baltimore County, Maryland Police Fugitive Task Force.
WJZ television in Baltimore also reported Reddy was teaching at St. Paul’s School for Girls in Timonium, a Baltimore suburb. The Maryland school, in a letter to their school community, said Reddy had already been fired, also wrote that before Friday, they had no information suggesting any prior improper conduct by Reddy, who’d undergone a thorough background check, the report said.
