The UFC made a couple massive announcements today as featherweight champion Max Holloway was injured and had to withdraw from the UFC 222 main event versus Frankie Edgar and Brian Ortega will take his place in a non title fight.
Confirmed UFC champ Max Holloway is injured and out of UFC 222. First reported by @bokamotoESPN. Seriously rough blow. 2 of 3 UFC PPVs to start the year have lost original headliners. https://t.co/2JrpL48cq0

Since I know you all love this game: Max Holloway's UFC 222 withdrawal marks the SIXTH main or co-main event change to the UFC calendar so far in 2018.

Worth noting: Max Holloway had never pulled out of a fight prior to UFC 222. He's fought 18 times in the UFC in the past six years, which is an active a schedule as anyone.

Just spoke to @TJDillashaw’s head coach @DUANEBANGCOM on the possibility of Dillashaw vs. Garbrandt 2 happening in March. His response: “We want DJ. Cody needs to earn a rematch first."
